Supporting the Next Generation of Architectural Talent
At LK2, we’re committed to supporting the next generation of architectural talent, whether that’s welcoming new team members at the start of their careers or providing students with valuable experience of life within a working practice.
Taylor has been studying the Level 3 T Level Construction – Design, Surveying and Planning for Construction course at Lincoln College. As part of his studies, Taylor recently completed his required placement hours with the LK2 team, gaining valuable hands-on experience and an insight into working within a live architectural practice.
We’ve enjoyed having Taylor as part of the team and seeing him put his learning into practice during his time with us. We wish him the very best of luck with the rest of his course and hope to see him working within the architectural industry in the future.
Kawther joins LK2 as an architectural assistant, bringing experience across both residential and public sector developments. Keen to contribute to a wide range of projects while continuing to grow her experience within the industry, she said, “I'm looking forward to being able to gain experience on a diverse range of projects as part of the LK2 team. I believe all designs should be of high quality and well thought out in every aspect. I’m excited to work alongside such an experienced team and continue developing my skills across a variety of sectors and schemes.”
At LK2, nurturing future talent is a key part of the company’s vision. By providing opportunities for students and graduates to gain real-world experience, the practice continues to support the development of the next generation of architects and designers.
Andy Newman, Director at LK2, joined the practice in 2000 as an apprentice and, over more than two decades, has progressed through the business to his most recent promotion to Director.
Andy said: "At LK2, we’re committed to supporting the next generation of architectural talent and providing opportunities for people at different stages of their careers to learn and develop. I know first-hand how important opportunities like this are, as I was given the opportunity and time to develop in a similar manner, so would like that ethos to continue.
“Kawther brings real passion and enthusiasm as she continues her architectural career with us, while Taylor has gained valuable hands-on experience and insight into the industry during his placement. We’re excited to support them both on their professional journeys and help inspire their future within the sector."
LK2 is a unique architectural practice specialising in health, retail, sports and leisure project development. The practice works on a range of high-profile schemes, from residential properties and office spaces to town centre regeneration and large-scale sports facilities.
Most recently, LK2 has been involved in the first-of-its-kind multi-sport and fitness hub redevelopment at independent school Christ’s Hospital.
