LK2 received planning permission for a new benchmark scheme to deliver community-based day patient treatments away from hospital sites - the first project of its kind in this part of Lincolnshire. The approved scheme would see a change of use for an existing commercial office to form a new healthcare clinic, delivering minor surgical procedures to the requirements of a Level 3 Sterile Environment. The clinic contains two surgical theatre suites, associated recovery rooms, consulting room and designated private parking.
With an ever-growing population in the county, alternative means of providing minor, localised care is essential. The scheme will help to reduce pressure at hospital sites and start to tackle long wait times associated with minor treatments, with hopes to achieve a maximum 10-week referral to treatment timescale.
The facility would provide NHS treatments under contract, led by a resident consultant for the NHS covering hospital areas for Lincoln, Grantham, Louth and Boston.
