The £3 million redevelopment of Constance Stewart Hall comprises phase one, the conversion of the catering facility into teaching rooms and phase two, a contemporary extension built over the existing building.
Innovation was central to the redevelopment of BGU’s Constance Stewart Hall, as we needed to find a visually striking way of introducing a contemporary new extension to the historic building on the university’s campus. We were able to blend both new and old elements to create the illusion that the contemporary extension is sailing over the original building.
The extension features a curved glass wall – reflecting the outlines of the original building and paying homage to its history, while at the same time demonstrating a ‘forward thinking’ design approach which accurately positions the university as a contemporary, modern institution.
