LK2 returns to MIPIM for a second year
With only 2 months left to go, the team here at LK2 are officially on count down for MIPIM 2018 – the world’s biggest property event. Our MD Dale explains why the firm is returning for a second year…
Last year saw LK2 make its inaugural visit to the Boulevard de la Croisette for MIPIM 2017 as a sponsor and member of Team Lincolnshire. The team had a highly successful trip, as our unique blend of services certainly proved to be a talking point with many new potential contacts.
This was probably down to the unique atmosphere of MIPIM. Back home, all those important contacts we want to speak to – potential clients and influencers – are tied up in the 9-5 rat race, snowed under with their own work and so trying to get that face-to-face time in the diary can be difficult.
That’s why we’ve chosen to go again this year as part of Team Lincolnshire, putting our county on a global stage in front of countless national and international investors looking for a UK region ripe with opportunity.
This year we also have some exciting projects to take with us – now that we’ve had a chance to see what all the fuss is about, we feel that 2018 is the right year to really show the world what LK2 is all about.
For example, we can’t wait to talk about our exciting work in China with the UK Sports Consortium, where we’re working with Gleeds and Notts Sport to help improve football uptake at a grassroots level.
Using our unique SportsLab concept, we’ve been demonstrating to top Chinese delegates how current spaces such as shopping centres and retail parks can be used to accommodate additional community sports facilities.
It’s a concept already being used in the Far East, with shopping centres, hotels and leisure space all being built over the top of large transport hubs. However, here at LK2 we’re nothing if not ambitious, and we see no reason why this idea can’t go global.
That’s why we’re looking forward to once again getting back out there. Alongside our other Midlands regional partners, we have the perfect opportunity to place ourselves at the forefront of not only the national, but international stage and to drive inward investment into the region.
