Lighteach Farm
Lighteach Farm is a vacant 19th Century Farmstead site located in the open countryside just outside the village of Prees in Shropshire. The historic farm settlement comprises a farmhouse and brick barns identified as a Non-Designated Heritage Asset by Shropshire Council. The application site is also home to more modern steel frame barns that have been added to the site throughout the 20th Century. The farm is within the setting of the Scheduled Monument known as Lighteach moated site.
One of the existing brick barns has already been converted into three residential dwellings. A full planning application has now been submitted to convert one of the remaining brick barns into a single luxury dwelling on a 3,000 square meter plot. An existing steel frame agricultural barn will be converted under the provisions of Prior Approval (Class Q) into four contemporary dwellings.
The dwellings have been designed with a balance of contemporary and traditional features to respect the historic character of the site and the surrounding landscape. Large areas of glazing will give residents views over the beautiful open countryside that surrounds the site.
A planning decision is expected end of June 2023.
