LK2 have designed one of the first UK Culture Houses in conjunction with Magna Vitae and East Lindsey District Council.
As a well-established important cultural venue in Skegness, the Embassy Theatre has been identified as the optimum venue to host the new culture house concept.
The design includes careful upgrades to the existing theatre and a contemporary extension facing the Embassy Gardens and Clocktower. This will provide a welcoming environment to encourage increased participation in arts, culture, and events, whilst enabling the existing theatre venue to operate more effectively.
The scheme will increase footfall, dwell time, expenditure and attract a wider demographic of visitors, to support the sustainable growth of the Embassy Theatre. It will work in conjunction with other Towns Fund developments to regenerate the resort and boost local economy.
The extension has been designed to highlight the venue as a central hub for culture and community engagement. The materials palette will improve visibility from the surrounding areas and provide a strong visual connection with the adjoining leisure and recreational uses.
