Sport & Leisure Project Update

Posted May 9th, 2016 by Jasmine Lui

Since the turn of the year, LK2 Sport & Leisure Ltd and LK2 Architects Ltd have provided business planning and architectural support for a number of high profile projects across the UK, supporting their applications for grant funding from The Football Foundation’s Premier League and The FA Facilities Fund.

The combined value of these projects is in excess of £20m with more than 50% grant aid now aligned.

The overarching aim of all of these projects is to improve community sports facilities in England, especially in areas of high deprivation. Social and community facilities like these are an essential ingredient of local life; therefore, it is imperative for these new developments to provide facilities which meet the needs that it generates now and in the future.

LK2 is working on behalf of local authorities, schools and community football clubs to deliver the projects, which range from new changing rooms and community pavilions, to the replacement or installation of new 3G artificial grass pitches and the development of multi-sport hubs.
