LK2 Sport and Leisure Ltd is currently working on a number of exciting leisure projects in rural Lincolnshire that will be of great benefit to the local communities and its residents.
A great example of this work is LK2’s involvement in a new sports facility at Lincolnshire-based South Axholme Academy. LK2’s new leisure scheme will completely overhaul the academy’s current facilities, which no longer meet the student’s needs and have become outdated.
The site will be transformed to include the installation of a new 9 v 9 3G football turf pitch, the construction of two Football Foundation approved changing rooms and a community room pavilion, housing a kitchen and ancillary facilities – all of which will be used by both the school and local people.
For this project, LK2 provided options for site layout plans and 3D imagery to accompany its feasibility study and business plan. The extensive scheme conforms to the requirements of the Football Association and Football Foundation; while also meeting the needs of the client and local planning authority.
Due to the scheme’s well-thought out design, it received no major objections during the approval process; thanks to its inclusion of a well-placed sports pavilion and 3G pitch.
These new features will allow the currently private sporting facilities to be used by other organisations and once completed, the academy’s new facilities will act as the club house for local football team Epworth Town Colts FC.
There is currently a lack of modern sporting facilities in the local area; meaning the delivery of a state of the art pitch and community room will benefit a wider number of people, including the academy’s pupils and members of Epworth Town Colts FC.
It is thanks to LK2’s team of industry experts that the scheme has been put into place, which will strengthen the local community and pave the way for the next generation to further their sporting abilities.
LK2 will act as contract administrator during the construction period and will help to coordinate the sports pavilion contract between the client and building contractor, while also overseeing the upgrades to the incoming electric supply.
