May Review

Posted May 28th, 2015 by LK2 Amy

May has been a fantastic month for the LK2 team: we have experienced even more growth, networked with amazing people, achieved fantastic media coverage and also begun to plan our London office launch.

This month kicked off with a fantastic LK2 feature in Leisure Design and Build magazine – a leading magazine within the construction sector. LK2 was featured heavily in a four page article, focusing on how we delivered Stamford AFC’s state-of-the-art stadium and our opinions on the future of sporting facilities.

We attended several wonderful events across the Midlands, including the Luxury Car Show, a Nottingham-based event showcasing the very best cars in the world. I had a wonderful time at the event, and I even met Tony Singh! Many of the LK2 team also went along to the Lincoln Beer Festival at the Lincoln Drill Hall, where we sponsored the York Brewery’s beer the Guzzler. This was a wonderful event and a great way to support a local event in a fun way.

We laid some great foundations this month for future leisure and sport projects across the country. I attended a high level strategic meeting with Sport England policy managers where we discussed exciting future Sport England projects. I also met with the FA’s senior managers to investigate potential frameworks for sport facilities nation-wide, so watch this space.

At the start of May, we welcomed Glenn Swann to the LK2 team who has joined as a senior project architect. In this role Glenn will be working on a number of our high profile retail and leisure projects, such as the Buttermarket shopping centre in Ipswich.

Throughout May, we have experienced a number exciting developments at both our London and Lincoln offices, which we hope to continue developing. On one of my trips to the capital, I worked from our London office, which was a milestone for LK2. The whole team is excited to officially open it – so keep an eye out for news on our launch event!

I am currently starting to build a brand new office in Lincoln, which sits right behind our very own. The foundations are in and we are currently organising contractors, so it is only a matter of time before we will be moving in some of the LK2 team along with a few tenants.
